Those of you who may have seen Supertramp concerts in the 1970's will remember the music was brilliant but there was very little said between songs. Occasionally John Helliwell would provide some witty banter...it's a very different story if you go to one of Roger's concerts.

Roger's voice is better than ever and he gives a very intimate performance. The interaction between Roger and his audience adds to the enjoyment of hearing the classic Hodgson penned songs... Give a Liitle Bit,  Dreamer, Take the Long Way Home, Logical Song, Breakfast in America and other favourites such as Soapbox Opera and Fools Overture...and Roger now provides the witty banter between songs!

Roger plays his songs on the instrument on which it was composed, so he moves effortlessly between 12 string guitar, keyboard and piano. Roger is accompanied by a brilliant Canadian musician - Aaron McDonald. When we saw Roger in Manchester, Aaron would appear on stage with his saxaphone, play his piece and then leave the stage...not anymore! Aaron now performs on a range of other instruments and between them they fill the hall they are playing and you forget there are only two musicians up there.

You can sense members of the audience reliving their past as familiar songs are played, taking them back to particular times in their lives, but Roger's concerts are very much of the present. He includes songs from his solo albums and also some unrecorded tracks. This can be a little frustrating as you wonder when you 'll get to hear these great unrecorded tracks again!!  You certainly come out of Roger's concerts on a high...
